Cheers to a Cure

We are Karly Freeman and Kailea Nuzzo and we are seniors at Edison High School. We are currently enrolled in the CIBACS (Center for International Business and Communication Studies) program which is a 4 year uniquely designed program started in 1995. CIBACS offers its students an enriched and integrated curriculum that is enhanced through competitive projects, job shadowing, and internships with business partners. For our final year in CIBACS we have chosen to create a fundraiser that raises money for pancreatic cancer research.

Pancreatic cancer has affected both of our families, which is why finding a cure for this disease is a cause near and dear to our hearts. Recently, our friend and neighbor, Greg Willard, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Through Greg’s journey we discovered The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, also known as PanCAN. PanCAN is the most highly regarded national organization creating hope in a comprehensive way through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure. This organization fulfills its mission by funding research grants, advocating for more federal dollars for pancreatic cancer research, providing current and reliable information for patients and caregivers, and helping individuals and communities work together to raise awareness about the disease. It is for all of these reasons that we have chosen to support this network for our senior project through the CIBACS program at Edison High School.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our website, and we hope to see you at our event!
